OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Project Engineer will work in conjunction with project managers and site superintendents to ensure successful completion of multi-million dollar projects. 

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Create and distribute a detailed owner/FFI/subcontractor contact list
  • Sit in turn over meeting become aware of all CFCI items and delivery milestones
  • Receive back to office folders and distribute paperwork as necessary
  • Conduct weekly / bi-weekly site visits to update site paperwork and assist with site organization
  • Work with PM preconstruction schedule and manage its updates
  • Perform take offs on some of the easier trades (e.g. – DFH, SAC, Toilet Part & Bath Accessories, Other Div 10, 11 & 12 items, etc)
  • Negotiate with the above referenced trades for buyout (With PM oversight and final approval)
  • Review submittals and shop drawings for the above referenced trades (With PM oversight and final approval)
  • Write CO’s for the above referenced trades (With PM oversight and final approval)
  • Write subcontracts for the above referenced trades (With PM oversight and final approval)
  • Monitor and update subcontractor tracking log
  • Write RFI’s on non-critical issues (With PM oversight and final approval) and distribute answers and track subs for add’l costs
  • Populate Submittal Log (Final approval by PM), distribute to subs and track to ensure that submittals and shops come in as dictated
  • Process and review submittals
  • Keep Submittal and RFI Log up to date
  • Update drawings and specs with addenda, changes, RFI’s. For both office and field
  • Track procurement, lead times, ship & hit dates, etc.
  • Generate Pre-existing Conditions & Final Walk-thru sign off
  • Coordinate with subs to get their applications for payment in and turned over to the PM for Owner billing (final approval by PM).
  • Take and generate owner meeting minutes for owner meetings
  • Generate PO for materials that First Finish is purchasing
  • Gather pricing to establish owner change Orders
  • Send out to the Subcontractors Contracts that are generated by the PM
  • Create and maintain project binders for the project
  • Create and maintain field binders for the project
  • Review daily reports every morning generated by the Superintendents of your projects
  • Scan in project binders once projects are closed out
  • Other Duties as required

Qualified candidate must have 3 years comparable experience with strong computer skills and managing multiple priorities in highly dynamic office. Candidate must have a proven track record of administrative leadership, resolving problems quickly and effectively with positive service orientation. Previous experience in the construction industry a plus. Must be able to travel.
