FIRST FINISH COMPLETES HIGH-PROFILE RENOVATION AHEAD OF SCHEDULE
Second Phase Completed at Largest Marriott in the World
Columbia, MD – January 18, 2011 – First Finish, Inc. recently completed the second phase of renovations at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center, the largest Marriott in the world. With a project schedule of 17 weeks, the 604-room renovation project finished ten days ahead of the scheduled January 7, 2011 completion date.
As with phase one, also completed by First Finish, the update provided the Orlando World Center consistency with new brand standards. The project included new doors, door hardware, millwork, crown molding, new closets, new lighting fixtures, carpet replacement, knockdown wall finish, and a comprehensive FF&E package. Not only did First Finish complete this extensive renovation ahead of schedule, but it was accomplished during high occupancy periods in adjacent areas of the hotel. As such, the project team accommodated the hotel’s schedule of operations and was able to maintain the appearance of working areas to minimize impact on guests.
“The day-to-day planning of work activities, the development of solutions for potential concerns, and the collaboration of experienced and motivated professionals contributed to the successful completion of this project ahead of schedule, “ explains David Burman, president of First Finish. “The entire project was a excellent example of cumulative team efforts.”
The world-class Orlando World Center Marriott Resort and Convention Center is 1.3 million-sq-ft on 200 acres of property. Situated in the hub of tourist travel to Florida, it is comprised of more than 2,000 guest rooms and suites as well as 450,000-sq-ft of flexible event space. First Finish, Inc. is a general contracting firm specializing in hospitality renovations and construction. The firm is a recent recipient of the 2010 Gold Hard Hat award for work completed on the Little Nell in Aspen, Colorado.
In addition to the guest rooms, there was significant public space work completed—railing work, millwork, new tile, and elevator cab interiors.
